Beautiful and unique
For travelers planning to stay in town for a week or more we would like to note that the city centre and the historic part is on the hill which makes it perfect for wonderful rooms with seaviews but pretty uncomfortable for those planning to go to the beach every day. If you do not have strict budget constraints, traveling withour a car and really want to stay as close
as possible to Taormina you will have to choose between the area around Isola Bella (seaside part) or the Corso area (hill part, downtown). It’s all Taormina but depending on whether you are planning to relax on the sun or not, your choice might be different. If you consider Taormina apartments or villas for rent, make sure you understand which part of Taormina exactly they are.
Dining options, shops and public transportation is available in both parts, and they are also connected with a road (it’s around 25 min walk up/down the hill) and a cable car (3 Euro per person per ride).
Taormina is well connected by public transport with neighbouring seaside towns like Letojanni, Giardini Naxos, Sant Alessio Siculo that are also a good options to consider for those planning to combine some dolce vita taste with the beachside relaxation on a limited budget
For both high-end eating out and clubbing Taormina is the best option. Every year from Easter till late October the life is booming in the town with most of the restaurants open. Night clubs will be open in summer and may be closed in other months.
The most popular going out options have recently been La Giara, Septimo, and Panasia.
Marabu in the neighbouring Giardini Naxos and Capo dei Greci in the neighbouring Sant Alessio Siculo are also very popular in summer months.

Activities and Sports
A competition on how much money can you spend in one hour is more relevant in Taormina than any other sport activity.
The town is all about luxury and dolce vita. It is also among the greenest and the most ancient parts of Sicily full of history and immersed in flowers and green.
Forget about sports for some time and just enjoy dolce vita as it is.
